What is due to Ukrainian children?
Ukrainians granted temporary protection in Lithuania will be entitled to child benefits:
Child benefit (child money) | It is paid for each child under 18 or up to 23 if the child is studying under a general curriculum |
An additional child benefit is provided | It is paid to a disabled child, as well as to each child from a large or low-income family as long as the family is considered large or low-income |
One-time child benefit | It is paid at birth, adoption (regardless of age) or custody (up to 1.5 years, if not paid at birth or first custody) |
One-time pregnant woman benefit | It is paid to a woman who is not entitled to maternity benefit from Sodra when there are 70 calendar days left until the expected date of childbirth |
Benefit for the birth of twins, triplets, etc. | It is paid to one of the parents until the children are 2 years old. |
Childcare allowance for a student | It is paid from the child's birth to the age of 2, if the child's parent, adoptive parent or guardian (caregiver) applying for the benefit is studying or is not entitled to childcare benefit from Sodra |
Care allowance | During the care period, it is paid to a child for whom care has been established in a family, care center or child care institution. At the end of a child's care, a person under the age of 24 may continue to receive care benefit if the person is studying |
Targeted supplement to care allowance | During the care period, it is paid to the family, and care center caring for the child. At the end of the care period, if the child has remained with the former guardian and is still in school, the former guardian is entitled to continue to receive this benefit, but not longer than until the former ward reaches the age of 23. |
Ukrainian families raising school-age children who start school in Lithuania are entitled to free school meals and, at the start of the new school year, to school supplies assistance.
A monthly allowance for raising children can also be obtained.
Student catering | Preschoolers, first-graders and second-graders are granted without assessing family income, and older students are granted if the average monthly income per family member is less than EUR 193.5. |

Monthly allowance for the education of children | It is granted and paid for 6 months. |
