Delegation of the Armenian Ministry of Justice Got Acquainted with the Activities of the Migration Department

The Armenian delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Justice Levon Balyan, visited the Migration Department on Friday and learned about the provision of migration services in Lithuania, their digitisation, and the peculiarities of customer service in the Vilnius department.

The Director of the Migration Department, Evelina Gudzinskaitė, briefed the Armenian delegation on the institution’s structure and its main functions and services. The guests were also told about the peculiarities of the Lithuanian migration information system MIGRIS and its functioning improvement. They were introduced to the service launched at the beginning of the year, where foreigners can apply for temporary residence permits in Lithuania at the offices of an external service provider in 34 countries.

“The Migration Department has changed radically over the past years, and this is especially noticeable for clients who visit the Migration Department once every 5 or 10 years. Thanks to MIGRIS, we have established a single standard for all the procedures conducted by the Migration Department, freed our staff from technical work, and focused on the quality of customer service and decision-making. Our achievements — both in terms of introducing a high standard of customer service and developing e-services — are impressive. I am delighted to have been able to present them to the Armenian delegation,” said Evelina Gudzinskaitė, Director of the Migration Department.

The Armenian Deputy Minister of Justice and the members of the delegation accompanying him were also given a remote demonstration of the activities of the Customer Service Department of the Migration Department in Kėdainiai and the customer service by providing them with information by phone.
On the same day, Friday, the Armenian delegation visited the Vilnius Department of the Migration Department, where they got acquainted with the procedure of issuing documents and had the opportunity to observe the customer service process using the Migration Information System MIGRIS.
The visit of the Armenian representatives to Lithuania is funded by the European Union’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) instrument.
