The passport can be obtained on the same working day if the application is submitted at any territorial department of the Migration Department before 12 noon, and can only be picked up at the Vilnius department at Vytenio St. 18, Vilnius. If the application for an urgent passport is submitted on the same working day at any territorial department of the Migration Department after 12 noon, the citizen may collect the passport on the next working day from 11 a.m. only at the Vilnius department of the Migration Department (Vilnius).

The state levy for the issue or replacement of one personal document (at own choice) for children under the age of 18, according to general procedure within 1 month is reduced by 50% (in this case, the state levy for the issue or replacement of the personal identity card is 5 EUR, for passport – 25 EUR).

For persons who have reached the age of retirement (which is stated in the law on state social insurance pensions of Lithuanian Republic), the state levy for the issue or replacement of one personal document (at own choice), according to general procedure within 1 month is reduced by 80% (in this case, the state levy for the issue or replacement of the personal identity card is 2 EUR, for passport – 10 EUR).

The discount will always be applied when replacing the same personal document, but if the discount is applied for the replacement of one identity document (for example, personal identity card), then the passport with a discount will be issued only if less than 1 month is remaining from the date of submission of application to the expiry of the personal identity card. The cases when a state levy is not charged for the issuance or replacement of one of the personal documents (at personal choice) in the general procedure within 1 month are presented below:

  • entitled to receive cash social assistance in accordance with the procedure established by laws,
  • children subject to guardianship or wardship,
  • persons in inpatient care institutions maintained by the state,
  • single persons who have reached retirement age,
  • disabled persons for whom has been established the level of disability or the level of working capacity of 55 per cent and less or the level of special needs in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Social Integration of the Disabled of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • participants of resistance for whom the legal status of a military volunteer or participant in fights for freedom is recognized in accordance with the Law on the Legal Status of Participants of the Resistance against the 1940-1990 Occupations, and victims of the occupations specified in Article 3 of the Law on the Legal Status of the People of the Republic of Lithuania Who Fell Victims to the Occupations of 1939-1990, who are recognized under this law as having the legal status of a victim of occupations;
  • persons of the Republic of Lithuania who fell victims to the occupations of 1939–1990, victims of the occupations referred to in Article 3 of the Law on Legal Status, who are recognized under this law as having the legal status of a victim of occupations.
